Kansas Barn Sale 2013

I know many of you heard me raving on Facebook about the Kansas Barn Sale earlier this fall. Yes, fall. I am just getting around to unloading the pictures off my camera and blogging about this amazing event. Procrastination much? Well, I think I get a pass since I was growing and birthing a baby. Anyways, The Kansas Barn Sale - SO amazing. Everyone should be heading to their website -- http://kansasbarnsale.blogspot.com/ or Facebook page - Kansas Barn Sale on Facebook right after you finishing reading this post.

Hears the scoop - Its an annual event for crafters, antique dealers, junkers and hoarders alike. The 2013 event was held on October 5th just outside of Wichita in a barn (yup, the bright red kind too!) outside of a town called Hesston. Its free to attend and I'll keep you posted on the vendor fees -- we are looking into joining the event next year. It was about a two hour drive for us but we made a day of it, hitting up a diner for breakfast along the way and stopping at some of our favorite stores on the way back. The parking situation at the event was a little chaotic, but once we got parked and in, we were good to go. There was live music, several food vendors, a mini pumpkin patch and lots and lots and lots of vendors. It was my Mecca.

Here some of our favorite finds of the day --

Love that rustic clock!

How perfect for kids! Love this idea.

I tried to come up with something to do with these old bed coils, but couldn't think of anything. Any ideas?? They are so cool looking and I just know they could be repurposed into something amazing.

This may be my new favorite color.

We spent an hour or two walking around ohh-ing and awe-ing at everything. I had to restrain myself from buying everything in site but we did come home with a few goodies.

Remember the rusty "R" I hung on Reid's nursery door? We bought it from a vendor out of Wichita. I paired it with a painted frame and a burlap tie! We also scooped up a few locker shelf to hold diapers/wipes/baby products on his changing table, a mirror we've hung in our living room and some funky shaped doors we've repurposed into chalkboards! I could have bought so much more, but luckily for my bank account we had a limited amount of space in the car!

I am so excited about the 2014 event and will keep you all posted once they announce the date. In the meantime, we're riding high on the inspiration we got at the event with lots of ideas and fun projects to come!! Stay tuned friends!

Happy Treasure Hunting,
Ashley
