Reclaimed Coat Racks Galore!

With all of this crazy Kansas weather, I have been digging through our project pile trying to find anything I can work on inside! Working in the cold garage when its 20 degrees out does not appeal to me like it does my husband. We recently got a great deal on a slew of coat/hat hooks and I thought they'd be the perfect match for some reclaimed wood and salvaged cabinet doors I've been hoarding. Here's what I came up with--

I'm obseessed with anything that will help make a statement when someone first walks into your home! Plus, if you're a OCD clean control freak like me, its another way to keep random clothing items/dog leashes/purses off the floor!

Here are some crazy good ideas I found while wasting time at work  on Pinterest.

Love the yard sticks! No source for this picture.

I love everything in this picture! The mantal coat rack is adorable - but check out that star burst light fixture. Yes please! Photo courtesy of Holly Mathis Interiors.

Rustic, farmhouse door - always a fave! Photo courtesy of www.recycleart.org.

Trash to Treasure Decorating upcycled these old skis by adding some hooks for her entry way! So creative.

I might have to try this with some of the gazillion peices of scrap wood we have laying around. How cute! Photo Courtesy of Mamie Janes.

Organization station! Curbly.com revamped an old headboard into a chalkboard coat rack.
I love the inspiration I can find from Pinterest. Such good ideas! Do you have a coat rack in your home? Have you upcycled something recently? We want all the deatils of your at home projects!

Treasure Hunting in Kansas City

Last weekend was our 1 year wedding anniversary! Crazy how time flies!!

My birthday is just a few days after, so my husband put together a surprise trip for us in Kansas City! Little did I know that the surprise was really a visit from my younger brother who flew in to spend the weekend with us! I was shocked and so excited to see him. We had an amazing weekend eating, drinking and sightseeing our way through Kansas City.

Of course, I couldn't resist at least one trip to see what KC's thrift and antique stores had to offer. So, I drug the boys to Mission Road Antique Mall. This store is absolutely amazing - 350+ vendors and over 50,000 square feet of goodies! I will tell you, this is an antique store not a thrift store. I had to pick my jaw up from the floor after looking at some of the price tags. But, there were lots of affordable booths filled with treasures! Here are a things we found.

Who doesn't need a cat tea set?
We almost went home with this mirror. Its been inserted in a solid wood door. Super rustic, distressed and gigantic! It was only $95 and I really, really wanted it - but it wouldn't fit in our car! Guess that means we'll have to go back!
If you are headed to the Kansas City area, I totally recommend stopping by this store. We were there an hour and maybe covered half the store - so chisel out some time to enjoy it.

Has anyone been to this store? What are your favorite antique stores to shop at?

February Fun

Well February was nothing short of a weather roller coaster here in Kansas! I am so happy it's March and we are (hopefully!) moving to warmer temps. Although we were stalled because of cold temps and inches of snow we still managed to complete lots of custom orders and revamps this month! Here is a look at what we've been up to:

Have you worked on any projects this month? Let us know what you've been up to, we'd love to hear about!!

One Final Look

I know everyone is getting sick of hearing about our newly revamped hutch, but I'm so in love with it and I can't stop admiring it! I thought I'd post one final (I promise) look at our hutch now that its all finished and filled up. We decided to only put in our pieces that were white or glass. I have a ridiculous amount of mason jars stashed around the house - and I thought this was a great place for a few! As always, I apologize for the pee yellow wall color. Trust me, it wasn't my doing!

I am so excited to have a place to display some of our wedding gifts and steamware we've had boxed up or hiding in the back of cabinets. We are ordering some under the cabinet wine racks for the first shelf, so that should help it look a little more organized.
I've had a beautiful set of antique champage glasses in storage since we got moved to Kansas; now they have a new home and a beautiful space to be displayed in.
I didn't dare take a picture of the junk I have crammed into the drawers and cabinet underneath, its not pretty. But, I will say I am taking full advantage of the space!

You can see all of the randomness we had packed onto our tiny wine bar in our before picture. I can't believe I'm even posting it, but I want everyone to truely get the transformation of this space.

Fingers crossed the weather keeps warming up and we can get back to revamping more pieces!!
